Description
Over 40 years ago Gérard Morin took over the family’s 1½ hectares of vineyard and his son, Pierre now runs the property. Pierre spent time working in Australia’s Adelaide Hills and at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy, were he became passionate about Pinot Noir.
Over the years the property has grown to nine hectares. The vineyards are amongst the finest and steepest in Bué. Yields are held low through a spring de-budding (one of Pierre’s main changes) and harvesting is by hand with meticulous sorting prior to vinification.ÂÂ
Pierre prefers natural methods in the vineyards and winery, avoiding herbicides and using natural yeasts for fermentation. All whites are vinified in stainless steel tanks and left to mature on lees for several months. ÂÂ
Ripe cherry and strawberry aromas, light to medium-bodied, long juicy finish. A perfect red to serve lightly chilled, as a refreshing, flavoursome alternative to white or rosé. Aged for 12 months in two to four year-old barrels, adding silky-smooth texture, but no heavy oak character.
