Description
The small vineyard plot of Haut Tropchaud is encircled and squeezed in by the more widely known Pomerol vineyards of  Le Pin, Certan, Petrus and Trotanoy, that’s some pedigree to have as your immediate neighbours, but Haut Tropchaud is in no way being pushed about, in fact bang for buck it’s a real steal compared to its revered neighbours.
The Haut Tropchaud does not disappoint, in the glass it’s inky and deep as a dark night, with rich luxurious dark brooding fruits and a chunk full of oaky vanilla. This wine will only get better over time and will age well for a couple of decades, but if you don’t have that much patience, or storage, it will drink just great with 4 to 6 hours decanting, a perfect pairing for a winter dinner or sitting by the fire.
