Description

In 1992 Phillipe Courrian purchased some of lands of the castle Saint Laurent Bermon in the Corbieres region of France. The family renamed the vineyard Cascadais after the beautiful waterfalls on the property. Phillipe has been working the vineyards as he worked his lands inร‚ย Chรƒยขteau Tour Haut-Caussan in Medoc, followingร‚ย an enviromentally friendly approach to the vineyards and wine making.ร‚ย

The tannat grape is normally grown in the southwest of France, where it is called Madiran. Philippe planted this grape and the gamble paid off, resulting in a unique exceptional vins de pays organic wine. The wine 100% TANNAT, aged 16 months in 100% new barrels, it made for long aging.ร‚ย The production is around 2000 bottles, only made in good years.

The wine has a dense black colour, full bodied. Fruity, supple and rich with blackcurrant, blackberry smooth tannins and a good level of acidity.
